Hanwha Kim Tae-yeon raises expectations for 2025 season by laying the groundwork for growth

Kim Tae-yeon of the Hanwha Eagles completed his best season in the 2024 season.

In 126 games, he recorded 120 hits, 12 homers, 61 RBIs and a batting average of 0.291, achieving career highs in most personal records.메이저놀이터

Kim's growth has been the result of steadily improving areas that had been considered weaknesses. In particular, he has made remarkable progress in his batting average against right-handed pitchers and his ability to cope with sliders.

The right-hander's batting average rose to 0.299 in the 2024 season and the slider contact ratio was 73.2%, up 7.9% from the previous season.

While maintaining the walk rate, he also improved the quality of his batting by reducing the strikeout rate.

The strikeout rate against right-handers decreased from 22.0% in 2023 to 18.4% in 2024.

In recognition of these achievements, the annual salary increased by 87% from 78 million won to 154.6 million won. This is the first billion-dollar annual salary in his life.

He also showed flexibility in positioning. He moved between first base and right field, but became a right field under Kim Kyung-moon. He has established himself as a utility player who can handle not only first base but also second and third bases.
